Shagbark Hickory (Carya ovata) is widely regarded as the most flavorful of all the hickories, because they really are delicious.
Shagbarks are the slowest growing of all the hickories, but even still they put on a few inches a year. These 1-year seedlings are between 3 and 8 inches tall, sold as bare-root seedlings.
