American Hazelnut (Corylus americana) produces super healthy nuts full of nutrients including omega-6 and omega-9, folate, potassium, Vitamin E, Vitamin B6, copper, phosphorus. They are 11% carbs, 81% fat, and 8% protein. Further nutritional information about hazelnuts can be found at https://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/nut-and-seed-products/3116/2

Hazels have a fibrous root system that is very effective for stabilizing stream banks, hillsides, and roadcuts. The wood is strong and flexible, and regrows vigorously when cut back to the stump. Normally living to about 100 years when undisturbed, hazel cut back to the stump is renewed in its youthfulness, and in Italy there are coppiced hazels still alive today that were planted by the ancient romans.

American hazel is more cold-hardy and blight resistant than European hazel (Corylus avellana). It likes to be grown in full sun, with adequate moisture during the establishment years.

These are 6 to 18 inch tall American Hazelnut bare-root seedlings
