Silver Buffaloberry (Shepherdia Argentea) is basically the Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) of western North America, being a very similar plant in many aspects. Silver Buffaloberry has deeper red fruits than Sea Buckthorn, and it has a slightly more tree-like habit, and the thorns aren't nearly as gnarly. It is drought tolerant once established.

The seeds used to grow these plants were collected in Missoula, MT.

These seedlings are unsexed, and both male and female plants are required for fruit production, so plant 2 or more.

Slow growing at first, they grow 3 to 4 inches the first year, 6 to 8 inches the second year, eventually achieving 12 inches of growth per year in ideal settings.

These 2 year old seedlings are sold in pint pots.
