Purple Chokecherries (Prunus virginiana) has leaves that start out green in the spring but turn deep purple in the heat of summer. Produces small berries widely used for jams and ciders, much loved by birds. Grows as a 20-25 foot tall tree, although it can be grown as shrub form by cutting back. Drought tolerant, vigorous plant.
These are 12 to 16 inch 2nd year seedlings, bare-root.
