Ponderosa Pine (Pinus ponderosa) is large-statured pine native to the American West. It is incredibly tough, being deeply tap-rooted and drought tolerant. It has a wide variety of uses, from lumber to medicine, with edible seeds and the dried sap can be chewed like gum. After many decades the bark takes on a deep orange hue.
These Ponderosas are sold as third year seedlings, bare root, 12 to 18 inches tall.
